PRESS: China’s Honor pauses smartphone supplies to Russia

MOSCOW, Jun 30 (PRIME) -- Chinese smartphone maker Honor, earlier belonging to Huawei, has suspended official supplies of devices to Russia although there is still no official announcement, business daily Vedomosti said on Thursday quoting sources.

Two sources – one at an electronics distributor and the other close to a large telecom operator – told the daily that Honor paused the supplies in March but has not made any official statement.

A source said that the company has not left the market but is looking for partners in Armenia and Georgia and has reached an agreement in Uzbekistan to bring smartphones to Russia via parallel imports.

“The expansion of its network of distributors in the CIS can hint at the fact that Honor is about to resume supplies to Russia,” the source said.
